Fishing and Water Sports

Seven clear, spring-fed lakes offer catch-and-release fishing, canoeing, swimming and paddle boating. An early evening boat ride is magic with the lake surface reflecting the changing light and sky. We provide the boat and life jackets. You provide the power!

Packages including stocked Florida hybrid large mouth bass with instruction for the novices are available upon request. Contact us for details!

Hiking and Biking

Miles of hiking and biking trails and high ridges with unparalleled views of the surrounding countryside offer challenges for the sports enthusiast. The elevation changes from around 1000 feet at the valley floor to almost 2,000 feet in less than two miles. No wonder the Texas Hill Country is where Lance Armstrong trains!

Horseback Riding

Horses love this Hill Country ranch as much as people do. Guided trail rides for adult riders can be arranged.

Bird Watching

The Ranch is a nature habitat for a startlingly wide variety of birds, including scarlet tanagers, vermilion fly catchers, kingfishers, and blue herons, making it a worthwhile experience for avid and amateur "birders". There's a hummingbird feeder on the porch to attract the "zip" and "zap" of the black-chinned and other species of hummingbirds as they vie for dominance over the sweet red nectar. We have included a link to the local Audubon Society website to aid in your discovery.

Fossil Hunting

A close look always yields a "find" on this ranch, once submerged under a vast prehistoric sea. The Cretaceous limestone layers chronicle the evolution of the seabed and provide us with a glimpse of a very different environment indeed. Dinosaur tracks have been found on a creek bed located five miles away. For the amateur geologist the Ranch a must-see!
